IDEAL awareness questionnaire

Line managers can be enrolled on the excellent IDEAL online questionnaire which generally takes around 30-40 minutes to complete. The questionnaire stimulating and enjoyable! It is not a test!

The questionnaire comprises 42 statements, broken into sections, each reflecting a core engagement principle, which the manager decides is mainly true or false. The ‘first try’ responses are used to (anonymously) compile an aggregate summary. After each attempt the manager is given immediate feedback as to the correct answer and a brief explanatory text.

IDEAL is designed to assess the manager's awareness of engagement issues, the main factors influencing their team’s workplace performance. The questionnaire is primarily for the manager's personal benefit – the sponsor has access to overall report data, but not to individual responses.

This unique tool can also signpost developmental needs. It is closely aligned with the Manager-of-choice programme.
